Compress an image to 200 KB
200 KB is the classic visa-application and job-portal photo cap. You need the file under it on the first try, without turning your photo into a pixel mess.

Frequently asked questions
Will the image be resized (smaller dimensions)?
Not unless it has to be. We first try pure quality reduction at full resolution. Resolution only steps down when quality reduction alone cannot reach your cap โ and the result page tells you exactly what strategy was used.
What formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP in and out โ your file stays in its original format, so nothing about how the portal treats it changes. PNG transparency is preserved.
What if the target size is impossible?
You will see the smallest size the image can actually reach before paying anything, with a suggestion (e.g. switch to JPG). We never hand you a file that misses the cap.
Do you keep EXIF orientation?
Yes โ photos taken on phones are rotated correctly in the output. Note: GPS and other EXIF metadata is dropped during recompression, which is usually a privacy bonus.
Is the preview free?
Yes. Upload, compression and the watermarked preview are free with no signup. You only pay when you want the clean file.
When this tool is not the right choice
You need to compress dozens of images regularly as part of a design pipeline.
Use your build tooling (e.g. sharp/imagemagick scripts) โ one-off emergency tools are not for bulk workflows.

The portal actually demands specific pixel dimensions, not a file size.
Use a resize tool (resize-image.yeezhan.com) โ changing dimensions, not bytes, is the right lever.
